PokerStars qualifying events start today for the US Ladies Poker Championship (USLPC), which is scheduled for September 4-5, 2010, at the Golden Nugget Casino Grand Ballroom in Downtown Las Vegas.Women from all over the Globe will battle it out at the Golden Nugget to become the inaugural United States Ladies Poker Champion.
This is the first standalone, major women's poker championship, where women are the focus, women are the stars, and women are the priority! Up until now, women poker tournaments were an 'also ran', even an after thought or concession to women.
It is time that changed, and Lupe Soto, the founder of both LIPS (Ladies International Poker Series) and the USLPC, is spearheading that change, "We expect this event will dramatically and positively impact the poker industry and the lives of women poker players everywhere."
Soto garnered all out support for the US Ladies Championship from PokerStars, the largest online poker site in the world where qualifiers are currently scheduled for 19:00 EST daily from August 12 – 21.
However, Soto went on to say, "We're working with PokerStars to change the time of the qualifying events to 21:00 EST so more West Coast players can compete, and to add more qualifying events to the agenda."
Soto also said that the daily qualifiers at PokerStars enable a player to leverage her way into both the US Ladies Poker Championship AND the Women in Poker Hall of Fame ceremony for as little as $17!
The Women in Poker Hall of Fame banquet and awards ceremony take place on September 3, the evening prior to the USLPC.

Private Tournament Section – from Aug 12 – Aug 21 at 19:00 EST- $15 + $2 (One seat to the $150 main event final qualifier on PokerStars guaranteed; additional seats for every $150 in the prize pool)
PokerStars Main Event Final: Aug 29 at 19:00 ET $150 + $12 (One package for every $1500 in the prize pool)
$550 buy-in, $75 Women in Poker Hall of Fame Ceremony and Banquet entry, 3 Nights lodging at Golden Nugget Casino Hotel, $650 travel cash, which will be distributed to your player account to get to Vegas!!
