Keeping a positive mindset at the poker table can be even more of a challenge. We make correct decisions and still lose. We are faced with players on tilt. We are sitting in the midst of an overload of energy. What can we do?
I invite you to watch this video that 6,226,077 people have already watched. It raised my energy and made me smile. I’m always looking for tool to add to my MindShift toolbox. It is worth your time and will raise your energy!
I rarely watch more than a few seconds of a video on YouTube before I say, “Next.” This time, I was so hooked on the energy that came through that I watched the entire 16 minutes!
Why?
Energy is contagious. You affect those around you and everyone affects you.
What is the takeaway?
- Stay away from cranky people
- If you can’t stay away from cranky people, put on your Energetic Armor and insulate yourself.
- Smile at the poker table… it will make the other players wonder what you are up to.
Leave a comment and tell me what validates you?
Until next time, remember my mindset motto…
Play the cards life deals you as if you've already won.

That video is amazing, Donna, and so are you! 🙂
Thank you Jo! So are you! 🙂
thanks for the great video, keeping a positive mindset playing low stakes tournament poker sometimes isn't very easy. Which reminds me of your pat yourself on the back advice, I was watching a little girl who had won americas got talent or one of those shows and she said when she gets nervouse before a performance she would get rid of the nervouseness by walking like a penguin , or waddling like a penguin she said that works for her. I guess doing something funny has mindset altering abilities.
Tournament holdem isn't as easy as it seems it should be, if your not having fun just playing the game it can be very frustrating. I think it is very important to play at stakes that are not emotionally draining. Just becouse you can be 66% – 33% favorite all in three times and odds are you will get knocked out. cash table play and tournament play seems to be worlds apart in the way the game is played.
Thanks for sharing your views and experience
You’re welcome, Michael. Low stakes tournament poker is some of the most challenging poker. When people have such little invested, they frequently stay in for “just one more card”, which leads to “well I’m already here, I might as well see the river.”
Keep in mind that our first objective when we play poker is to make correct decisons. I believe our second is to have fun. Keeping joy in our lives keeps our energy up, which helps us make better decisions. Hmmm. Maybe having fun might be a better first objective. 🙂
Donner,
THANK YOU FOR THE MIND CHANGE!
You are welcome Pat. Thank you for engaging in the shift.
It is always nice to get compliments from friends, family , and strangers. You can please some of the people some of the time, but can't please all the people all the time. Kinds words can go along way .
Thank you Steve. Kind words do go a long way.
